Salem State University is a public institution of higher learning residing in Salem, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1854 under the name Salem Normal School as a school for training future female school teachers. Work-Study

Salem State University participates in the Federal Work Study program that enables both undergraduate and graduate students to work on a part-time basis to assist in paying for college costs. Students are able to work both on and off campus, up to 20 hours per week at the current minimum wage rate. Students must show a financial need and the total award varies.
