The University of Colorado-Denver offers an Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate and a Master of Arts in Counseling in School Counseling.
The Applied Behavior Analysis Graduate Certificate is offered by the School of Education and Human Development. The program is offered entirely online and it is approved by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board. The program is intended for teachers seeking to advance their understanding and expertise in recognizing student behaviors that may impact learning. Students gain the ability to understand and accurately describe behavior, gather and interpret data and make data-driven decisions for ABA, and implement recommended practices with individuals with autism and related conditions. The program features a six-course sequence and requires the completion of a total of 18 credit hours. Students are required to complete a total of 270 class hours. The courses include Introduction to ABA and Terminology, ABA Data, ABA Practical Applications, ABA Advanced Data and Behavioral Plans and Applications, Autism in Early Intervention, and Ethics and Implementation in ABA. The program meets the coursework requirements toward the Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst examinations.
