Master of Arts in School Counseling
The Master of Arts in School Counseling is designed to prepare school counselors who will be ablet o conduct effective developmental guidance in schools. The program participants are provided experiences that qualify them for work at all levels of school counseling. It requires 60 credit hours and meets the accreditation criteria of the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs. About University of Alabama
As part of the establishment of Alabama as a state in 1818, a township was set aside to establish a seminary of learning. In 1820, the University of the State of Alabama was officially chartered and Tuscaloosa was chosen as the location for the new school. Classes began in 1831.
Enrollment more than doubled over the next 20 years but, in 1860, the University became a military school. A martial department and disciplinary systems were established. The school closed during the Civil War and all but seven buildings on campus were burned by Union soldiers in 1865. During the Reconstruction Era, the school was reorganized and opened again in 1871. Women were admitted in 1893 and the military system ended in 1903.
Today, there are more than 38,000 students enrolled at the University of Alabama. It is ranked as a very high research university by the Carnegie Foundation. US News & World Report ranks the school’s online business master’s program 13th in the country.

University of Alabama Admission Requirements
In order to apply for the Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. They must also provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in undergraduate studies and a minimum GRE score of 300 or GMAT score of 410.

They must provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. They must also provide a statement of purpose, letters of recommendation and official GRE or GMAT scores. They must also have an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0.
The University of Alabama Tuition and Financial Aid
Tuition for the Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis and the Master of Arts in School Counseling is $759 per credit hour for Alabama residents and $1,713 for non-residents.
More than 67 percent of students who attend the University of Alabama receive some type of financial assistance. In order to qualify, they must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the form must be renewed on an annual basis.
